 March 20, 2024 Captains Log, Day 74 This week we took a drive south of Moab to see Wilson Arch. It lies along Hwy 191 and they have pull offs for parking. I got out and tried climbing up to the arch but there was too much sand on the stone face for this old guy. Got a few pictures though. On Tuesday we headed into the back country to explore. Expecting one thing but getting something else. Another adventure. We headed down 10 mile road which was a hell of a lot longer than 10 miles. There was plenty of stone ledges and rock walls to climb over. We did end up on a ledge overlooking the Green River far below. It was a beautiful sunny day and the views were spectacular. We also got lost in the sand dunes not being able to find our way out. Ended up driving on the top of a dune with wheels on each side of the peak. Eventually making our way out.  March 15, 2024 Captain Log Day 69 Even though it was Pi (3.14) day yesterday we did not have Pie.  We did take a drive to Bridges National Monument about 50 miles from our campsite. To get there we once again needed to drive up the mountain ledge to about 6000 feet above sea level. We went from 50 degrees to 38 degrees at the Monument.  We stopped at the ranger station to get my Passport stamped adding another National Park to the book. The drive in the park was a one way road looping around the park. there are three natural bridges to see.  If you look closely you can see the arch in the middle of the picture. The landscaping was amazing as the rock seemed to swirl around. There are also Native Indian ruins along the far cliff, hard to see but Diane found using the binoculars.  March 14, 2024 Captain's Log; Day 68 Before we left Cedar Crest, NM we did drive on the Musical Highway just outside of Albuquerque . As you drive over grooves in the road it plays America the Beautiful. It is pretty cool. It has been there for some time and is getting worn and you have to listen closely but you can here it and you sing along in your mind. This week we are in Bluff, Utah. Looks like a new campground with new stone ground cover and sites. Diane like that the internet is working great. There is a new laundry and shower  building which is close to our site. It's great as our washing machine is no longer working.  Bluff is situated in south eastern Utah with mountains and deep valleys all around it. We headed into the Valley of the Gods on Monday. It is a short distance from the campground and a great drive into the Valley with the mountains all around you.
