Captain Log Day 69
Even though it was Pi (3.14) day yesterday we did not have Pie.
We did take a drive to Bridges National Monument about 50 miles from our campsite. To get there we once again needed to drive up the mountain ledge to about 6000 feet above sea level. We went from 50 degrees to 38 degrees at the Monument.
We stopped at the ranger station to get my Passport stamped adding another National Park to the book. The drive in the park was a one way road looping around the park. there are three natural bridges to see.

The landscaping was amazing as the rock seemed to swirl around.
There are also Native Indian ruins along the far cliff, hard to see but Diane found using the binoculars. As we made our way around the park we stopped at viewing sites to see the bridges.

This was a trail to an arch.
The last arch was a bit of hike down the mountain side but it was clearly labeled and easy down, up was another story.

there is a crack in the Bridge so ya don't know how long it will be here.

You can see how vast the area is and natures beauty is all around you.

found what looked like a bear print in the rock.
The walk back up the mountain was exhausting for me. Diane thinks its because of the Covid I had while in Alaska, I can't see to get my breath and have to stop far too often on the climb. Anyhow we made it up and get our 5000 + steps in yesterday.

As you can see it was cold on the mountain. It was snowing all around the mountain and there was hazard warning out for the area.
We stopped at a small dinner in Blanding, Utah for lunch. Reminds you of the Old Days.
