It been a while since I added to our blog so here is a recap of some of what we have been up to.

Last week we hiked several trails around Page, AZ. There is a scenic view area of the Glen Canyon Dam so we hiked to the area. At least there was a railing along the rock stairs to the viewing area.

We next hiked the Hanging Garden Trail, just 1.5 miles. It was an easy walk around a mountain located close to the Dam. We weren't sure why it was called Hanging Garden until we reached the end of the trail. There was green ferns hanging inside the cave-like cutout in the mountain.

Yesterday we spent about 3 hours in the desert and mountains overlooking Lake Powell. At the 25 mile mark we were on top of a plateau. We passed a number of teenagers that were camping on one of the points. We passed them and continued on up the plateau. We stopped a bit back from the edge as we had Buddy along and did not want him wandering around.

There is a little stream of water, center to left, where last year it was a wide channel.

We opened the roof canvas for some shade while we relaxed taking in the beautiful view.

Someone walked out of their sandals, hopefully they did not walk off the edge.

There was warning out for Glen Canyon about quick sand, so I just had to do this.

Today I took a hike from the campground into the canyon about a quarter mile away. It leads to a channel of Lake Powell. Of interest was the amount of stones that washed into the canyon over the years in the rainy season.

We did go out to dinner at the Barnyard this past week. Diane had salmon and I had steak. Diane had a Blackberry Old Fashion with Bullet Bourbon and I had scotch.  The waitress forgot one of my drinks on the bill, so I told her to add it. I think she misunderstood because the bartender brought me a third scotch. I told him what happenned and he said " in that case this is meant for you". Diane helped me with the third scotch as I was driving home.

The building was a huge metal building with a well stocked bar and a large area for tables. They also had an arcade inside. Outside there was mini golf and other sports areas to enjoy.
