Electrical update: Received the part from Entegra last Tuesday morning. I disconnected the house batteries and removed the old part and install the new battery disconnect solenoid and we had 12 volt power. I expect this will eliminate all the problems I have been having with the electrical system since last October. A week later and we have had no problems, everything is working fine (except my front shades that haven't worked right since I bought the coach). We are happy campers once again.
We pulled up last Wednesday and headed north toward Flagstaff, AZ. We ended up in Holbrook, AZ and only planned on staying 3 days as we wanted to head to Flagstaff to hook up with Jan Lord. However, Jan called and we had to cancel our get-together. Because of that we decided to stay here for another week and then head to Lake Powell from here. That will be our next stop from March 1st to April 1st.
This past week we took a drive to the Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Canyon. We did a little hiking in the area and took a lot of pictures. Always amazed at the topography of the area. So many times the most beautiful areas are hidden until you are standing right in from of them. The best part of what we do in exploring new areas and just taking in the beauty of this country.

We took a drive to the Homolovi State Park. The people that lived in this area were called Hisat"sinom. This land is still considered the homeland of the Hopi people. There are several hiking trails we took to view the ruins. At the time when the area was inhabited the housing structure had 1200 rooms. Today it is mostly rubble due to scavengers looking for artifacts,

In Holbrook, the history of the area is a western town that had its share of gunfights, poker games and interesting characters. There is a saloon (closed for years) called Bucket of Blood Saloon. They also named the street after it; Bucket of Blood Road.
I was looking for something to do and found Fort Defiance about 1 1/2 hours away. So yesterday we took a road trip to visit the Fort. As happens once in a while, I did not do enough checking. The Fort used to be there but was burned down when the cavalry left the fort prior to the Civil War. Today Fort Defiance is a census-designated place in Apache County on the Navajo Nation; population was 3,624 in 2020.
All was not lost as we did find the Fort Defiance Memorial Cemetery. Many soldiers from World War 11, Korean War and Vietnam lay here.
