February 16, 2024 Continued: On Thursday we took a drive to Roswell, NM expecting to see a small town but it turns out is has 40,000 people. We did not know what to expect but did locate the downtown with all it's Alien shops. We went to the UFO Museum which had the history of the 1947 crash of a Weather Balloon i.e. space craft. There was a lot of information posted from eye witnesses and military personal with Secret Documents signed by President Harry Thurman. We spent about an hour and came to the conclusion that the THING (the place we visited last year) was more entertaining. Today we decided to head back to the Buffalo Gap Falls and do some hiking. It was 64 degrees and sunny with a nice breeze. We hiked up the stone path to the top of the mountain. We were out for 1 1/2 hours and walked until we encountered a Angus Cow on the path. He and I had a stare down for about 5 minutes, he lost and bowed his head. Had to turn around at this point as the cow was not moving. To
January 14, 2024 On January 7th we loaded up and set our on our Winter Adventure. "Adventure" is thee key word. As we drove through Kewaskum a black cat ran across the road right in from of us. Maybe we should have turned around them but we did not. As we turned on to South HWY 43 we came across a very recent roll-over with several cars parked alongside the highway. No police or rescue personnel present and we had to drive through a debris field, hearing the crunching of plastic under our wheels. Then as we headed down the highway, a semi truck tried to run me off the road. He was about half way past me and decided to move into my lane. I hit the brakes and pulled to the side. Day one was an adventure. We stayed Eagleville, Missouri that night. 461 miles the first day. We were the only camper in the campground. Snow on the ground and 26 degrees. We only pushed the bed side out, hoping things would not freeze up. Red

We did not have the solar glasses but had our camera and phones to get a picture. Needless to say we did not see any eclipse nor did the sky darken along our route. We did get to the end of the trail, turned around and followed in reverse back to Moab. single spire along route solar eclipse NOT Earth Movers picking up Potash from fields As you leave Moab on the way to the trail we did stop and look at some of the pictoglyphs on the rock walls along the Colorado River. This area is also famous for rock climbing. On any given day you will see climbers line the roadway to ascend the sheer walls. About a year ago one female climber saved the life of a parachutist who's shoot got caught on a ledge about 70 feet above the road. The climber went up, secured the guy and brought him safely to the ground. She just recei
