We made a beer & wine run to the military base. $420 later we were on out way home.

There are 5 different bars and restaurants' built by the same guy. Each with a different theme based on what he was into at the time.  Each is magnificent in their own way. The woodwork is gorgeous.  


Gary and Patty said that these places are packed on weekends. Each bar opens at a different time, some as late as 9 or 10 o'clock.

Lambert's is another unique place with good food and lots of it. They have what is called "walk around" food that you can have as much as you want in addition to your meal. Buns are tossed to you as the waiter goes by. 


As with most places, things are decorated with Mardi Gras stuff.


We left Perdido Key RV Resort and headed to Georgia. We are settled in here for the next week. This is a Core of Engineer's park overlooking a huge lake. Temps in the 70's with sunshine and no rain. Life is good. 


First night, second night we had to sample some of the wine we bought.

 April 10, 2021 Our last few days at Horse Cave KOA took us into town to visit the Hidden River Cave in downtown Horse Cave, Kentucky. This cave has two subterranean rivers flowing over one hundred feet below ground. It also has the world's longest underground swinging bridge taking you up into the Sunset Dome, one of the largest free-standing cave domes in the United States. It is 100 feet high and 250 feet across.  This cave once supplied the city with water via a hydroelectric generating system. It lay 100 feet below ground and there are 230 steps to go down and come back up.  This was our campsite for a week at Horse Cave KOA. We think we had the best view in the campground. We could watch the Amish building "tree house" for the campground 20 feet in the air. They were also clearing a large area of trees for another project.  April 7, 2025 This past week we headed to the Hickman  Bridge Trail for a short hike. I told Diane that it was less than 2 miles and easy walking. What I neglected to mention was that we needed to climb up the side of the mountain 416 feet. I have to admit it was grueling. We went until we thought what we saw was the Hickman bridge and turned around and headed back to the car. It was a 2.2 mile hike and we felt every bit of it.  spotted this land marker on the trail. We have come across these over the years.   The trail up. A snow squall came in when we were at the top. Glad I had my gloves along as it got cold.     Our next quest was to hit the dirt trails in Capital Reef National Park about 40 miles from our campsite. There is a 20 mile road from the Park Admin Office which is out and back. There is one Arch (Cassidy Arch) along the route. The last 2.5 miles is dirt and just beautiful as you drive in the gorge between the rock faces of the mountains....

 December 15, 2024 Well it has been an interesting week since we left home. The RV electrical problems that plagued me while at  home continued as we made our way south. I had replaced the Inverter/Charger the day before we left and thought everything was working fine. However, that was short lived. On a daily basis the 12 volt system would shut down leaving us without power for heat, hot water and lights. Could not get water to flush the toilets but we did have 120 volt power to run the space heaters we had along.  We only stayed a day at the first three stops and each time we encountered problems with the electrical system. This meant pulling a number of items out from under the coach and crawling inside to check and reset the inverter. I looked at and checked everything from wiring to fuses and breakers.
