Well its a new year and hopefully a better one for everyone. Not much happening in SPI this past week. Went to the beach New Years Eve day, high winds and high tide made for an interesting drive on the beach. The sand was slippery and not much beach to drive on in some areas.

The beach by the County Park, next to our campground was a bit deserted on New Years Day.

We went out to eat on Wednesday to the Painted Marlin, thinking it would be slower than New Years Eve but were mistaken. A good thing Bob and Susan got there early and put our name on the list. We still waited about 40 minutes. People that came after us waited up to an hour and half.

Good food and good margaritas. After dinner we each went back to our coach. It started to rain a bit later and did so all night long. Wave after wave of heavy rain. In the morning there was water everywhere. Difficult to get Buddy to the dog park as there was so much water.

New Years eve and New Years day were windy and colder (low 50's) (I say with a smile) so we mostly stayed in. We did take another drive to the beach and yesterday we went for a walk for about an hour just to get out and get moving.

There is a section of beach just outside of town were locals go to kite board. The water is shallow and there is always wind. On this day the winds was in the 20-25 MPH range. Some of these guys were flying 20 feet above the water.

This gray van was stuck in the sand with the front end laying on the frame. Only front wheel drive and they chose to drive in the deepest, softest sand.

Came across a number of jelly fish that had washed up on shore do to the high waves. On new years eve the near shore waves were in the 4-6 foot range.
