South Padre Island, TX

 December 19, 2020

We made it to South Padre Island last Sunday. Beautiful day when we arrived. Mid 70's. Three other Entegra Coach RV'ers whom we attended the Spartan Academy last August were here waiting for us when we arrived. Great to see them all again. We said our hellos then headed to our site to get set up.

They had to trim the tree before I could get set up. Glad I am not the Safety Director here.

It was about 4PM when we finished getting everything set and headed over to Bob & Susan's coach. Bob & Lisa and Ginny were already there. It was like we never left Spartan as our conversations echoed that of friends that have been together for some time. A few cocktails and a lot of laughs and all of a sudden it was time to head back to the RV.

This was our Spartan Academy Group.
(l-r, Ken, Diane, Dave, Bob and Susan Watson, Ginny Anderson, Juan Rubio, Laura and Bart Skrbic, Lisa and Bob Saldeen)

David, Juan, Laura and Bart could not make the trip to SPI

Monday was a lousy day as there was, what I am calling, gale force winds all day and the temperature dropped to 52 degrees. We stayed inside except for taking Buddy out.

Tuesday was back into the 70's and Bob & Susan were making a brisket on their pellet stove for dinner that evening. We made Cheesy Potatoes and brownies. Bob & Lisa and Ginny are "vegan" so we had crab cakes without crab and hot wings made of cauliflower. Lisa also made a brownie (with a touch of cayenne in it). Everything tasted great. I did like the hot wing cauliflower. And they were hot.

Wednesday we ventured out to see the sand sculptors. Then a couple of drinks and on to an early dinner at the Blue Marlin.

This guy was still working on his.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Julio and his guys washed and waxed the RV and Jeep yesterday.  We ran the Jeep on the beach the day before so there was a lot of sand to clean off inside and out.

Still got my dash tore apart. Got new monitor and had to replace the wiring harness. It turned on but will not shut off nor allow me to see my side cameras. Will have to call Entegra on Monday.

Last night we headed to Pelican Station for dinner with the group. It was Susan's birthday so we embarrassed her by singing Happy Birthday to her twice. Good red snapper for me and salmon for Diane.
