November 30, 2022 This is our third day at Whispering Springs RV Resort in Mathis, TX. We stayed here two years ago and liked the park for its quiet surroundings and 2 mile walking path through the wooded area. As a Passport America member, by staying three days we get one day free. Pays for the membership. Part of the walking trail. there are a number of ponds like this on the property Watch out for Alligators   Hard to see but its an ant hill, there are fire ants around the campground. Just need to watch where you sit and walk. Tomorrow we make the final 200 miles trek to South Padre Island, TX. We will be there until January 1st.

Novembet 24, 2022 After Porter, OK we headed to Hugo, OK to check out the Mt. Olivet cemetery. Diane wanted to go there for the section titled "Showmen's Rest", where many circus performers are. Hugo, OK is a popular winter headquarters for traveling circuses since the 1940s, earning the nickname "Circus Town, USA". Once there we circled the cemetery several time but decided not to risk going into the cemetery. The entry arch did not seem high enough to get under. Our next stop was about 60 miles away so we decided to get set up and return if we had time.  In Durant,OK we stayed at a Core of Engineering park. Less expensive and always beautiful parks. Your tax money at work. The weather was still cold with highs in the low 40's  during the day and in the 20's at night. Our first walk around the park kicked up four deer. These COE Parks are always located around lakes. There were several die-hard fishermen out on the lake each day.

November 15, 2022 We started our trek south last Saturday leaving home at about 6:45 am. Temperature in the 20's  when we pulled out. We drove 470 miles south stopping south of St. Louis for the night. Still 29 degrees. Turned on furnace and used up 3/4 tank of propane that night.  Next stop was Porter, OK, 350 miles south. High temp was 36 for the day. Another tank of propane. We were going to stay just one night but there was a snow storm coming in so we decided to stay a second night and leave after the storm. Turns out it was more rain than snow where we stayed. Further west they had up to 7 inches of snow. Water Tower In Porter. We also saw two towers in another city standing next to one another, one said HOT and the other said COLD :) (but the photographer in the coach didn't have her camera ready). Just old building in Porter OK  We headed to Hugo OK to check out the cemetery where many circus performers are buried. After circling the  cemetery several times and not fin
