April 7, 2025 This past week we headed to the Hickman  Bridge Trail for a short hike. I told Diane that it was less than 2 miles and easy walking. What I neglected to mention was that we needed to climb up the side of the mountain 416 feet. I have to admit it was grueling. We went until we thought what we saw was the Hickman bridge and turned around and headed back to the car. It was a 2.2 mile hike and we felt every bit of it.  spotted this land marker on the trail. We have come across these over the years.   The trail up. A snow squall came in when we were at the top. Glad I had my gloves along as it got cold.     Our next quest was to hit the dirt trails in Capital Reef National Park about 40 miles from our campsite. There is a 20 mile road from the Park Admin Office which is out and back. There is one Arch (Cassidy Arch) along the route. The last 2.5 miles is dirt and just beautiful as you drive in the gorge between the rock faces of the mountains....

March 31, 2025 Yesterday afternoon, after the sky cleared up we decided to do one more hike here in Page, AZ. We chose the Bee Hive Trail just outside Page. Here are some pictures of the area. It is all solid rock on this hike. Also most of the time on an angle. It was a beautiful day.   Diane, being the smarter one did not climb up. I believe this rock is called the wave. Old men should not climb up the mountain :) Hikers have laid stones along the path so you know where to hike, very helpful. We also had to drive around the mountain when the hike was over, more deep sand trails to lead me astray. Saw this while hiking on the mountain side. Just had to find our way there.   I was happy I had the sand boards along even though we did not have to use. We spent most of today packing up and cleaning. Tomorrow we hit the road once again. The adventures continue.

March 30, 2025 Our last week here in Page, AZ. This past week we headed west of Page to check out an area we visited before. It was the area we spotted the guys looking for gold. This time I took my metal detector along. We took a lunch and the lawn chairs. Diane took her tablet so she could read an E-book as I explored.  made up of sediment and stones wavy stone I had to climb over on the trail.  I headed back into the canyon (above) where we spotted the guys earlier. Easy walk up and down the rocks and back into the gorge about a quarter mile. Always amazed at the rock formations. One rock was made up of mud and stone, layer upon layer, and I bet over thousands of years to create.  In the one arched cut out in the mountain there was a tree, picture on previous blog, that I figured if you are going to bury gold, mark it with a tree. I took my metal detector there and started to search for treasure. A couple of minutes in and it started to beep. I dug and dug and al...
